The Word Arts Foundation (WAF) was formed in Athens, Ohio, to support writers and spoken word performers of the Southeast Ohio region.
WAF proposes to provide assistance for regional word artists through various means like grants, showcase events, and educational programs. Our philosophy is to help writers by creating opportunities to:

• Gain knowledge by attending workshops and conferences.
• Gain exposure and experience through performances and readings.
• Share wisdom by leading workshops and classes.
